HT/FT — half-time/full-time — is a single bet on who is ahead at the break and who wins at the end. There are nine combinations: home/home, home/draw, home/away, draw/home, draw/draw, draw/away, away/home, away/draw and away/away. Because it settles on two checkpoints instead of one, the odds run far longer than a straight result bet, and the two turnaround combinations (home/away and away/home) are the longest of all — a side that trails at the break goes on to win outright in only a small share of matches. The combinations worth backing are the ones where a favourite starts slowly against a side that defends deep and tires: draw/home is the most commonly landed non-obvious result.
