Real Madrid matched La Liga leaders Barcelona on points with a tight 2-1 home win over Rayo Vallecano, securing only their second victory in six league games.
With Barcelona’s match postponed and Atletico Madrid losing earlier, Real had the perfect chance to finish the weekend level at the top—and they took it.
The victory extends Ancelotti’s side’s home winning streak to four games in all competitions, but their focus now shifts to a short trip across the city for their Champions League clash at the Metropolitano Stadium.
